About the Role
As a Business Development Manager, you’ll focus on net-new client acquisition across the grocery retail space. This is a true hunter role that requires both solution selling experience and a deep understanding of industry pain points. You’ll manage the entire sales cycle, from prospecting to close, and collaborate with internal consultants and solution architects to tailor presentations and demos. Post-sale, accounts are transitioned to an Account Manager, but you’ll continue to earn commission on expansion deals for up to two years. You’ll also represent the company at key industry events and conferences throughout the year.
Responsibilities
· Generate and close new business with grocery retail organizations across the U.S..
· Partner with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions for each prospect.
· Travel to meet prospects and attend conferences (20-40% travel, concentrated in Q1 and Q4).
· Educate the market on the value of integrated, intuitive tech platforms built for the grocery sector.
· Maintain pipeline discipline and drive deals through multi-stage sales cycles.
Qualifications
· 7+ years of experience in grocery retail or related food industry verticals.
· Strong background in solution selling, ideally within consulting or mid-sized tech environments.
· Demonstrated ability to prospect, pitch, and close new business.
· Familiar with data platforms and systems integration across multiple sources (POS, ERP, etc.).
· Based in the U.S., working EST or CST hours; located near a major airport is a plus.
· Adaptable, coachable, and motivated by autonomy and results.
