About the Role
As a Director of Business Development, you will be responsible for generating new business with North American government agencies, particularly in areas related to driver and vehicle identity systems. This is a long-cycle, high-value sales role with significant autonomy. You’ll lead strategic planning, drive consultative sales efforts, and engage deeply with government stakeholders through all phases of the RFP-driven procurement process. Ideal candidates are relationship builders who can navigate matrixed decision-making environments and bring a thoughtful, partnership-first approach to enterprise sales.
Responsibilities
· Develop and execute business development plans for an assigned territory across North America.
· Lead government clients through consultative, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
· Manage full-cycle opportunity pursuit, including proposal and RFP development.
· Engage with decision-makers and influencers at the federal and provincial/state level.
· Build and nurture long-term client relationships across business and delivery lifecycles.
· Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, engineering, and service delivery teams.
· Contribute to monthly sales forecasts and strategic planning activities.
· Represent the company at industry events and in-person meetings across North America.
Qualifications
· 10+ years of enterprise-level B2G or systems solution sales.
· Experience in long-cycle, RFP-driven government procurement processes.
· Background in identity, software platforms, or digital transformation preferred.
· Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, IT, or related field.
· Strong communication, relationship-building, and strategic planning skills.
· Eligible to obtain Secret Level II Government of Canada clearance.
· Fluency in English required (French is an asset).
· Must be open to travel 8-16 weeks per year.
Benefits
· Base Salary: $115,000 – $130,000 CAD (flexible for the right candidate).
· Bonus: Based on performance; aligned to government industry norms.
