About the Role
As the Sales Director, you’ll be responsible for managing and growing key retail partnerships across the U.S., with a focus on both expanding existing relationships and landing net new business. You’ll play a strategic role in developing account-specific sales plans, collaborating with internal teams, and leveraging data to inform decisions. If you’re an experienced retail sales pro who knows how to win shelf space, manage SKUs, and drive results across large accounts, this role was built for you.
Responsibilities
· Serve as the primary point of contact for major retail accounts, leading communication, negotiations, and relationship management.
· Drive growth by developing account strategies, identifying upsell opportunities, and pursuing new business within the retail sector.
· Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, editorial, and production to support product launches and promotions.
· Analyze sales data and market trends to inform decision-making and identify opportunities for expansion.
· Partner with internal operations teams to forecast demand and ensure inventory availability across retail accounts.
· Travel up to 25% for client visits and trade shows; expenses are fully reimbursed.
Qualifications
· 5+ years of full-cycle sales experience managing retail accounts and selling tangible consumer products.
· Proven track record of success in growing existing accounts and closing new business with big box and key retail players.
· Strong communicator, able to build trust with both customers and internal warehouse/operations teams.
· Highly analytical and data-driven, with the ability to use metrics to inform strategy and grow market share.
· Strong sense of ownership and accountability – you take pride in your work and own your outcomes.
