Overview

Our client was established in 1980 as a manufacturer’s representative company in the plumbing and heating markets of Southern Ontario and has grown to become a National Master Distributor across Canada in all provinces and territories (except Quebec).

They currently have an opportunity for an experienced and talented technical sales representative to join their dynamic sales team and take on the responsibility of a territory covering Central Ontario (generally; Mississauga to Belleville and up to Barrie). Candidates with outstanding communication skills, a willingness to learn and an appetite for winning will have the best opportunity to succeed in this environment.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Developing and cultivating a customer base consisting of mechanical contractors, engineers, developers and other key individuals involved in making mechanical systems equipment decisions on both small and large-scale building projects, including but not limited to;

• Travelling within designated Central Ontario area to visit potential clients.

• Working with consulting engineers to generate specifications and provide solutions for their building's heating requirements.

• Maintaining relationships with end users and key accounts.

• Conducting site visits to verify and document equipment conditions and provide recommendations for replacement and troubleshoot systems.

• Organize and participate in regional trade shows and training seminars.

• Negotiating tender and contract terms directly with contractors and distributors to meet both client and company needs.

• Preparing, and submitting quotations in a strategic manner.

• Meeting regular sales targets including the analysis of costs to ensure profitability.

Qualifications & Education:

Self-starter with excellent communication and troubleshooting skills.

• 5+ years of proven sales experience on large transactions for products or services in the Hydronics industry and/or mechanical equipment fields.

• Experience with the tendering process and selling to mechanical contractors, engineers and/or developers in the mechanical or HVAC industry.

• Knowledge of Hydronic system design and equipment selections.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills c/w computer proficiency.

• Past employment experience within the HVAC construction industry preferred.

• A degree or diploma based on Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent trade skill obtained from a recognized post-secondary institution. Specialization in the Plumbing / HVAC industry preferred.
