Senior Mechanical Engineer

Our client is a leading specialist manufacturer and supplier of static tension and compression materials testing machines. They are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team. This role is responsible for maintaining current products including putting together drawing packages, designing custom machines and tools, documenting component and system changes, and entering data into the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. The engineer will also be involved in R&D projects including the development of new products in all phases including concept design, engineering calculations, modeling of parts and assemblies, creation of drawings and Bill of Materials, material/component selection, and machine testing. This position will require the use of Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor.

Key Responsibilities

• The engineer will support all engineering activities to ensure that orders are met on time.
• Putting together drawing packages for manufacturing of products.
• Reviewing existing designs to identify process improvements.
• Designing custom tools or machine options.
• Testing products to ensure their function and quality.
• Creating and updating AutoCAD drawings.
• 3D modeling parts and assemblies in Inventor and creating Bills of Materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 10-20 years of successful engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Experience working with large machines, hydraulics, or testing & material machines.
• Located within 1 hour of Philadelphia.
